Weekly Inspiration (12/4/24)

Everything we do goes back into the Body of Christ, to build up that Body for those who come after. We, each of us, have clothed ourselves in Christ, and we can’t take it off again in this life. Everything we do matters.

Ode to a zipper

by Steve Garnaas-Holmes

You are made for joining,
purposefully incomplete.

As you lace your fingers
we are kept warm.

When you smile your toothy smile
things are brought together.

Whenever I zip you today
remind me:

to let my incompleteness
be my gift,

to let my affection
keep warm this world,

to join the others, embracing,
holding the world together.
