Community Updates (6/22/23)

Congregational Meeting Sunday June 25th, 2023

At our June Vestry meeting, we determined that it is important to have a Vestry that reflects the demographics and to be a comprehensive representation of our congregation. Aided by the wisdom of Canon Martha, we are proposing to increase the vestry size with a slate to be voted on during the June 25th scheduled meeting. People on the slate will be vetted by the Senior Warden prior to the election and they will become voting members and remain on the Vestry until we seat the next Vestry in 2024.

We recognized also that over the next few weeks and months, the workload of the Vestry will be increasing. This includes performing interviews, arranging for visits with the Vestry of the potential priest candidates, thoughtfully considering who will be the best selection for ECA, reviewing our finances, and presenting a contract to our next priest.  There is also the need to have a robust presence in the Vestry to help facilitate the transition for the new priest. All of this work is important and will require a dedicated time commitment and prayerful consideration by the individuals involved.

It will be important for anyone considering being placed on the slate or have any questions to contact Ellen Lukanc prior to Sunday, June 25th.

Please plan on attending this brief meeting immediately after worship prior to our first BBQ fellowship of the summer.
