Quote of the Week
“There is more than meets the eye in everyone. And so our posture in life toward others should surely include the humility that we do not know them as God knows them, that God is at work in them as much as God is at work in us. None of us is a mystery to God, who so loves the world.”

Poem of the Week
Kintsugi
by Jason Horsler
I’m that cracked bowl lovingly restored to use.
Others would have called me worthless and old;
and discarded me at the very first sign of a chip,
but my Maker and Owner has glued me with gold.
So much had to be used that I am now twice as heavy,
and dozens of times more valuable, than new--
my crazed glaze and rim accented
with thick yellow metal against white and blue.
I am more beautiful now and held up to display.
My history gives glory to the One who restored me.
He purchased the gilt and with expert technique
met edge on to edge ‘til I am unique.
He could have hidden his careful repair
but then none would know the love He showed there.
