Weekly Inspiration (5/4/23)

Quote of the Week

“When Jesus came back to see his Apostles, Jesus showed his wounds. He showed his wounds as if to say, I am the real the deal, I’ve been to hell and back, and I’ve got the scars to prove it. Healing is a process we’ve all been through. Healing centers us and gives us a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Healing helps us find God where we need God most – which isn’t always where we want God most.”

Poem of the Week

Abide in me
                   —John 15.5

Living Christ, I live in you.
You are my breath, breathing in me.
You are my bones and I am your flesh,
you my nerve, and I your muscle.

Living Christ, community of the whole,
Body of the One,
I belong to you.
My life is gathered into you,
all my actions happen inside you.

I see the world through your eyes,
love the world through your broken, joyous heart.
I am the fingers of your hand.

In confidence and humility
I abide in you,
held in your peace,
loving with your love,
rejoicing with your joy.
