Quote of the Week

“Who do you laugh with? That’s the person in whom you will begin to see the face of Jesus, who calls you his friend. It is in the face of the One who calls you friend that you will discover the truth of what this means: no one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. And it all begins, I think, with laughter.”

Poem of the Week

by Holly McKissick

As I tend to my small corner of the world,
dusting furniture,
I say grace, Holy One, for this moment,
which feels full and complete.
Let me notice the details:
the soft cloth,
the scent of lemon,
the simple movement of a hand
against the grain of wood.

Thank You for the feeling of satisfaction,
for nothing in particular...
for a full heart during what should be
an unnotable moment.
In you, Dear God, I’m reminded
that all things are clean and possible again.
