Community Updates (10/27/23)
Dear ECAeans,
(did you know I love nicknames?) This Sunday we are going to celebrate the birthday of ECA and I invite you to bring a birthday card to ECA on Sunday with a special story or memory you have of this congregation. We will make a “card collection” in church, and the cards will be opened and posted for all to see at the Potluck on Friday, November 3.
Ponder what you were doing in the fall of 1967. I was moving back to Los Gatos after living for two years in Hong Kong with my family. I “might” just ask folks to share briefly on Sunday! ;) And if you were just a dream in someone’s eye, what was a relative or friend doing then? Inquiring priest wants to know!
I also wanted to tell you something about myself that I am very proud of, and which for me is about coming full circle from childhood. I have always had an artistic bent, and when the Pandemic happened and I was at church alone and living alone, I did two things - I found Dazzle the Corgi and I moved into my first real art studio! I spent most evenings creating a prayer card with water colors and scripture. I also mourned the death of my brother by going up to Lake County where he lived, and finding huge pieces of obsidian (Mt. Konocti is the local volcano). This, plus my lifelong love of photography, are the things I work on now.
On the coffee table in the entry way you will find a pile of my prayer cards…I am experimenting with printing them as prayer cards for home altars or for small notes. Please take one! Also, you can find my online studio at www.revsgrossman.com. One of the privileges of priesthood is that you share with me many details of your life, and I wanted to share this important part of mine with you!
See you on Sunday, with bells on!
Love,
Stacey

First Friday Potluck

Here is a direct link to our weekly “An Episcopal Sermon” podcast.
Each weekly podcast episode is a live recording of the Gospel reading followed by the sermon based on that reading from our Sunday services. A new episode is posted on our website every Monday (in case you missed it on Sunday). This podcast provides thought provoking messages that can be listened to anywhere at any time.
Enjoy!
