Easter Message 2025

Dear friends,

Easter Day was glorious at ECA!  It felt good to ring bells to ‘Alleluia’ after taking a 40 day pause from saying a word we love to say. It was particularly good for me to be able to joyfully say Alleluia with you because it was our first Easter together and that means a great deal to me!

Though our big Easter celebration in church is one Sunday a year, the season of Easter continues – we call it Eastertide – until the day of Pentecost.  And even after that, Easter continues.  Easter is what we live throughout the year!  It’s not ‘Christ was Risen’ but ‘Christ is Risen’.

Jesus' resurrection gives us hope. In it, we hold on to the promise of new life as we move through the good, bad, and ugly that will always be part of our lives.  And to that we can all say “Thanks be to God”.

Easter blessings,

Karen+

Giving our life in love is not without suffering. Passion – Jesus’ passion and our passion – is both about love and suffering. The great mystery of life is how love and suffering coexist, and how they inform each other. Jesus shows us the way.
