Community updates (11/9/22)
Many thanks to all who turned in their 2023 Pledge Cards (Estimate of Giving) last Sunday at our All Saints/ECA Birthday service. If you were not able to come to church last week, please mail your pledge card to the office. The Pledge Card envelope is already addressed to the church. ECA relies entirely upon pledges and donations to run our mission and ministries. Your support is very much appreciated.
Reminder - our neighborhood walk is set for Saturday Nov 12 at 9:30.
The forecast is for partly cloudy and about 60 degrees with light winds, great for a walk. This is a walk with observations and NO knocking on doors or sensitive interactions. We will meet back at the church for a BYO lunch and build a summary from the participants. This is a very easy activity to support the church profile and help us towards searching for our next rector.
Hope to see you at the church at 9:30 Saturday morning.
Todd Lukanc
Note: there will be no Thursday Morning Bible Study on 11/17 due to Rector’s vacation or 11/24 due to Thanksgiving – class resumes on Dec 1
DRIVERS NEEDED
Some in our community could use a ride to church or the doctor or help picking up meds or food. I’m trying to get a pool of people willing to be called on. I thought I’d asked in church a while ago, but haven’t heard from anyone so am asking again. I hope we will be able to provide this service if asked, so please let me know if you can help. Thank, Pat
PLEASE MARK SUNDAY, DEC 4TH ON YOUR CALENDARS FOR ECA’S ANNUAL MEETING #1. As we did last year, we are splitting the 2023 Annual Meeting into two parts.
Part 1 will be after church on Sun, Dec 4th.
Part 2 will be after church on Sun, Feb 5 (Neither the play-offs nor the Super Bowl).
The Dec. meeting will focus on 2023 budget and elections for Vestry Members and Convention Delegates/Alternate. Part 2 will focus on where ECA is and the year ahead.
Here is a direct link to our weekly “An Episcopal Sermon” podcast.
Each weekly podcast episode is a live recording of the Gospel reading followed by the sermon based on that reading from our Sunday services. A new episode is posted on our website every Monday. This podcast provides thought provoking messages that can be listened to anywhere at anytime.
Enjoy!

Poem of the Week
You will be hated by all because of my name.
But not a hair of your head will perish.
By your endurance you will gain your souls
—Luke 21.17-19
Though the land go dry or the oceans rise
you are in the arms of the Beloved.
Though times my seethe and the air swirl with shouting
you are being held.
Though people around you may be angry or in a panic
the One who holds you is at peace.
Though people speak ill of you
the name you bear is mercy.
Though the streets may flow with hate
your heart is suffused with love.
Though people hurl fear at you
your soul will not be harmed.
Though you be threatened
you will not perish.
Nothing can prevent
your courageous love.
