Rectory Work Day

Thanks to all who have helped with the Rectory refurbishment so far.  It's looking good, but we still have some final follow up items to finish.  There will be a second Rectory refurbishment work day on Saturday, April 15, meeting at 9:00 a.m.  Please join us at 6884 Burnside Dr. if you can help.

A pizza lunch will be provided.

Transition Status Update

The Transition Team has been very busy over the past few months compiling all the data collected during the summer, fall and winter via individual story gathering of parishioners, the 4 different Parish Meetings, Neighborhood Walk, and Parish Status Report.  A sub-committee of the Transition Team: the Profile-Writing Team developed ECA's updated Profile from all this data and the parish engagements.  They have reviewed it with the full Transition Team.  The Profile was approved to be submitted to the Vestry for review and approval.

We are planning on having the Profile Review meeting with the Vestry during the first week of April.  Assuming there is little to be changed, it will go to the Bishop for approval and then be posted on the Diocese website, ECA's website and various social media posts.  This should occur by mid April.  The posting will be up for approximately 4 weeks and then the Transition team will begin interviewing interested candidates in the late May/early June timeframe!!

The Transition team is excited to have reached this major milestone in the Transition process and start to see the finish line! We know you all are very interested in the progress and excited for what the future will bring ECA!

Music Director candidates selected for auditions

The Music Director Search committee has finished interviews with candidates who applied to be ECA’s next Music Director/Organist. The committee was impressed with two of the applicants and will be holding auditions with them the weekend after Easter. The search committee will then collect feedback from choir members and others who participate in or observe the auditions and meet to make a recommendation to the wardens and vestry as to who will be the best person to be our next worship music leader. Our goal is to have the person start serving in the position starting in June. Please keep our efforts and discernment in your prayers.

Could you help us get the word out? Please pass on this info about kids’ camp to families with children 6 to 10 years old:

Kids’ Camp – Adventuring in the Arts – June 19 to 23

Five days from 9 to 12:30 PM for kids 6 years to 10 years old. Check this out online:  www.churchinalmaden.org

Lots of fun is being planned by Susie Ferguson, member of the Episcopal Church in Almaden.

* * AFTERNOON SOCIAL * *

When: Thursday, April 20, 2023

Time: 4pm to 6pm

Where: ECA Fellowship Hall

Bring: snacks to share

You do not need to RSVP, and it's does not cost any money.  You do not have to dress up, unless you want to, and if you are coming from work and don't have time to bring a snack, just come on by anyway!  We would love to see you!

Starting in April the Afternoon Social will be on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 4pm to 6pm. We will need “Hosts” for each gathering. Now don't get scared--“hosting” just means you need to unlock/lockup the church.  That reminds me, we will likely only have the fellowship hall doors opened, NOT the front door, so drive on around the back and come on inside!  When the weather gets better, we may even BBQ!

We already have some people signed up, so grab a spot while you still can.

20 April      Cecily Martino - bring your baby books and prepare to look at photos and share some fun stories

If you are interested in volunteering to open/close the church, please leave a message on our Contact Us portal for Wendy or Susanne and let them know when you are available to ‘Host’.

Prayer Vine  Kathleen Eagan in the new director of the Prayer Vine. If you have any prayer requests, please leave a message for her through our Contact Us portal.

Drivers Needed  Hi All.  A few months ago I asked for those willing to provide rides for our congregation to be part of a driver pool.  Sometimes it’s a ride to or from church events, sometimes it’s a need to pick up meds or groceries, or get to appointments.  It’s not a commitment to always be available, but is a tangible sharing of love.  Please let me know if I can call on you. Please leave a message for Pat McGarvin in our Contact Us portal if you are willing and able to help out here.

-Thanks, Pat

Here is a direct link to our weekly “An Episcopal Sermon” podcast.

Each weekly podcast episode is a live recording of the Gospel reading followed by the sermon based on that reading from our Sunday services. A new episode is posted on our website every Monday (in case you missed it on Sunday). This podcast provides thought provoking messages that can be listened to anywhere at any time.

Enjoy!
