Community updates (1/26/23)

Santa Maria Urban Ministry has reached out to ECA requesting nonperishable food for the families that they serve. Please bring nonperishable food to Church. I will place the bin in the Narthex.

Thank you for always supporting our friends at SMUM.

Grocery and Gas Cards There is a need for grocery shopping and gas cards to be on hand for those in need who come into the church office. Please consider purchasing one as you are shopping, bring it to church and put it in the collection plate or give it directly to Ruthanne in the office. Thank you.

As of Jan 1, the Wardens and Vestry are canonically in charge of ECA until a new priest arrives.  They have been working with Shelley and everything is lined up for Sunday services, pastoral care, fellowship activities, financial oversight, and of course, work on the Church of the Future to continue uninterrupted.  If you have any concerns, questions, or needs, please contact Nancy or Ellen, or for administrative questions, Ruthanne.

If you need pastoral care, please call Nancy Romer, Betty Consorte, or Marianne Schmidt. If you have any questions Contact Us

Star Words are here!  The star words will be in the sanctuary this Sunday, January 8.  Many of us received a star word at Shelley Denney’s Retirement Lunch.  If you can’t find it, choose a star word that calls to you during the service.  Each of us can use our Star Word to meditate on throughout the year. How might God be speaking to you through this word?  Is this something you need more of in your life?  Is this something you might look for in others?  As you move through the weeks and months, you will be surprised how often this word will jump out of what you are reading to encourage you.

Here is a direct link to our weekly “An Episcopal Sermon” podcast.

Each weekly podcast episode is a live recording of the Gospel reading followed by the sermon based on that reading from our Sunday services. A new episode is posted on our website every Monday (in case you missed it on Sunday). This podcast provides thought provoking messages that can be listened to anywhere at anytime.

Enjoy!
