Roses
Dennis Widman has seen to the upkeep of the JV Rose Garden for many years, and he has finally decided to step down from this responsibility. The JV Board is looking at options for this, but we are asking for at least one volunteer from both churches to be on a “Rose Committee” to oversee the upkeep. These are not necessarily people who will be doing the work, but they are people who will see that it is getting done. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please let Steve Wing know. Thank you!
And thanks to Dennis for his MANY MANY years of service to our Rose Garden. It is thriving under his care, and many of us have enjoyed it over the years.
The BELL has been located! Do you remember the bell that used to be out front of the church a number of years ago? It’s been a mystery as to who moved it and where it went, but this past week it was found in one of the old sheds we have on the property, along with a lot of other stuff! It is on the list of things to be “fixed” at our next JV Work Day, which will be scheduled for sometime this spring. It needs some work, but it is still usable. The mystery of its removal remains, but at least it’s been located!
ECA and UCC have joined together to help feed our community as Joint Venture.
The odd months we will donate food to Santa Maria Urban Mission and on the even months, we will donate to Marilu’s Pantry here in Almaden Valley.
Please continue to place non-perishable foods in the bin at Church and at the end of the month the food will be distributed to SMUM in the odd months and Mary Lou’s Pantry in the even months.
Thank you for your continued generosity.
Here is a direct link to our weekly “An Episcopal Sermon” podcast.
Each weekly podcast episode is a live recording of the Gospel reading followed by the sermon based on that reading from our Sunday services. A new episode is posted on our website every Monday (in case you missed it on Sunday). This podcast provides thought provoking messages that can be listened to anywhere at anytime.
Enjoy!
