A New Season. A New Year

I’ve been with you all for two full months and am very
excited to start a brand new year with you! I feel a
little like Paul might have felt when he wrote to the
Thessalonians. We read a portion of his letter just last
Sunday – the 1st Sunday of Advent. You can hear how
happy he is with them and for them when he writes
on behalf of himself, Silvanus, and Timothy: “How
can we thank God enough for you in return for all the
joy that we feel before our God because of you?” and
“May the Lord make you increase and abound in love
for one another and for all, just as we abound in love
for you.”
That’s very much how I feel about ECA. I thank God
for you and for the joy I have before God because of
you! I pray that the Lord will help us increase and
abound in love for one another and for all.
During the season of Advent, we watched and waited
expectantly on our journey to meet the Christ child who
came to bring peace and change the world. May we
be instruments of that peace and change in our lives
together in the new year!
